This sampling and analysis plan (SAP) presents project information and sampling and analytical methodologies for Dungeness crab tissue sampling supporting the West Point Treatment Plant’s incident response. King County conducted this study to determine if wastewater discharges following the February 9, 2017 flooding of the West Point Treatment Plant, and subsequent period of reduced treatment capacity of the plant, adversely influenced crab tissues. This was done by determining if there are substantive increases in concentrations of metals and organic chemicals in Dungeness crab tissue following these events when compared to historical crab tissue data.
