2018–2019 Water Quality Monitoring for the Hicklin Lake Water Quality Management Assessment: Sampling and Analysis Plan

Hicklin Lake is located in White Center, an urban neighborhood in unincorporated King County. Hicklin Lake has frequent toxic algae blooms and elevated bacteria levels, which prevent the general public from being able to access the beneficial uses of the lake – swimming, wading, and other forms of recreation. The lake inlets are all stormwater drainages.

This Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) describes the routine sampling and benthic nutrient flux components of the Hicklin Lake Water Quality Management Assessment. The goal of the monitoring is to collect data suitable to estimate the loading of nutrients, bacteria, and metals to Hicklin Lake through the stormwater drainage system and from the lake bottom sediments.
