In 2019, the King County Beaver Working Group sponsored two public workshops to engage with residents on how King County can be a good neighbor where beavers are concerned.
The four goals of the workshops were:
- For King County staff and residents to engage with and learn from one another.
- For King County staff to learn residents’ perspectives on what it means to be a good neighbor where beavers are concerned.
- For King County staff to receive input from residents that will inform potential changes in County policies regarding beavers.
- To generate new ideas for how King County government and residents can co-exist with beavers.
This report describes how the workshops were organized, who participated, and themes we heard. It then presents a set of recommendations based on the themes heard from the participants.
