Plant description:

Growing from the ground every spring, this three foot tall, graceful, arching perennial makes a grand show in mid spring with fragrant, tightly massed tiny flowers followed by redish berries. It prefers moist streambanks, meadows and clearings and looks best planted in large masses. In the fall, the leaves turn a tawny brown and gradually melt into the duff.
